Understanding the “Who is at Work” Screen #
The dashboard displays a list of all employees with color-coded status indicators:
- Red: Employee has not punched Start Day (SD) for the current work day
- Green: Employee is currently on duty
- Yellow: Employee has completed their duty for the day
How ProClock Determines Employee Status #
Start Day (SD) Punch #
- The system checks for an SD punch for the current day
- If no SD punch is found, it checks the previous day for potential overnight shifts
On Duty Status #
An employee is considered “on duty” (highlighted in green) when:
- They have punched SD for the current day, or
- They punched SD on the previous day and the time elapsed is less than the “Maximum allowed hours between SD-ED pair”
Completed Duty Status #
An employee is considered to have “completed duty” (highlighted in yellow) when:
- The system finds a pair of SD (Start Day) and ED (End Day) punches
- The ED punch time is earlier than the current time when the report is generated
Examples #
- Overnight Shift Example:
- Employee punches SD at 23:00 on the previous day
- Report is run at 15:00 the next day
- “Maximum allowed hours between SD-ED pair” is set to 20 hours
- Result: Employee is considered “on duty” (16 hours < 20 hours maximum)
- Completed Duty Example:
- Employee punches SD at 08:00 and ED at 17:00
- Report is created at 18:00
- Result: Employee is in “completed duty” status
